Ceramic Esthetic Prosthetics Clinic Features

Personal care by directors trained at Seoul National University

Esthetic prosthetics is a treatment that quickly restores the appearance of the teeth. It is important to minimize damage to the teeth so that their natural function is not compromised. At Ceramic Dental Clinic, a dentist who graduated from Seoul National University aims for esthetics similar to natural teeth while minimizing damage to the teeth.

Advanced Equipment System

Ceramic Dental Clinic uses equipment such as high-precision 3D CT, digital panoramic X-ray, and cephalometric X-ray to analyze the teeth and jawbone in detail, aiming for results that do not compromise tooth function.

Outstanding Esthetics and Durability

Prostheses made by skilled dental technicians and carefully checked by our medical team offer excellent esthetics and durability, for natural results that feel like your own teeth.

Attentive Aftercare System

The lifespan of a prosthesis depends on care after treatment, so regular dental checkups are essential in addition to ongoing oral care. Ceramic Dental Clinic provides careful follow-up care through a structured recall system.

Laminate Veneers

Laminate veneers are a cosmetic dental procedure in which thin, tooth-colored ceramic is bonded to or placed over the tooth surface. They are mainly used on the front teeth and can quickly even out the teeth while also brightening their color. They are effective for small teeth that are difficult to correct with orthodontics, teeth with unusual shapes, teeth so discolored that whitening cannot easily fix them, or patients who find it hard to visit the clinic many times.

Advantages of Laminate Veneers at Ceramic Dental Clinic
Fast treatment: Standard CERANATE takes 2 visits over about 1 week, and One-Day CERANATE takes 2 visits over 1-2 days.
Desired results at once: Along with even alignment, you can get the tooth size, shape, and color you want all at once.
Preserves natural teeth: Tooth reduction is kept to a minimum to avoid stressing the teeth, so natural teeth can be preserved for a long time.

When Laminate Veneers Are Needed
Front teeth that are uneven in size, shape, color, etc. · Gaps between the front teeth · Part of a front tooth damaged by an accident, cavities, etc. · Aspiring entertainers or announcers who want quick correction of their front teeth

All-Ceramic Crowns

Laminate veneers are not suitable when the front teeth are severely damaged or there is a severe snaggletooth. In these cases, treatment is done by covering the entire tooth with ceramic, and this type of artificial tooth that covers the whole tooth is called an all-ceramic crown.

Advantages of All-Ceramic Crowns at Ceramic Dental Clinic
Fast treatment: Treatment is completed in 2-3 visits within a short period (7-10 days).
Desired results at once: Along with even alignment, you can get the tooth size, shape, and color you want all at once.
Preserves natural teeth: Tooth reduction is kept to a minimum to avoid stressing the teeth, so natural teeth can be preserved for a long time.

When All-Ceramic Crowns Are Needed
Wide gaps between the front teeth · A large part of a front tooth damaged by an accident, cavities, etc. · Tooth damage that requires root canal treatment · Wanting to correct a severe snaggletooth quickly · Front teeth that are very uneven in size, shape, color, etc.

Zirconia Crowns

In dental materials science, zirconia is a ceramic that is as strong as metal and highly esthetic. It is so highly regarded that it is considered the most ideal of the ceramic materials known to date and is even called a dream material. While regular all-ceramic crowns are mainly used on the front teeth, zirconia can also be used on the back teeth (molars).

Advantages of Zirconia Crowns at Ceramic Dental Clinic
Fast treatment: Treatment is completed in 2-3 visits within a short period (1-2 weeks).
Desired results at once: Along with even alignment, you can get the tooth size, shape, and color you want all at once.
Strength similar to natural teeth: Can be used on molars as well as front teeth, and keeps a strength very close to that of natural teeth.
Preserves natural teeth: Tooth reduction is kept to a minimum to avoid stressing the teeth, so natural teeth can be preserved for a long time.

When Zirconia Crowns Are Needed
Wide gaps between the front teeth · A large part of a tooth damaged by an accident, cavities, etc. · Tooth damage that requires root canal treatment · Wanting to correct a severe snaggletooth quickly · Front teeth that are very uneven in size, shape, color, etc.

FAQ

What is the difference between an inlay and a crown?

An inlay fills a decayed or broken area with a custom-made partial restoration, while a crown covers the whole tooth. An inlay requires less reduction of the tooth, but if the remaining tooth is thin or weak, it may not withstand chewing forces. So we decide on the right treatment considering how much tooth remains and the chewing forces.

When do you recommend a crown?

We consider a crown when little tooth structure remains, for back teeth that have had root canal treatment, when a tooth is cracked, or when decay has recurred under a large filling.

How are materials chosen?

For inlays we use a hybrid material with elasticity similar to natural teeth, which helps reduce wear on the opposing teeth. For crowns, we mainly use all-ceramic, with natural color and shape, for visible front teeth, and high-strength zirconia for back teeth that take strong chewing forces. We choose the right material considering the position of the tooth, chewing forces and whether you grind your teeth.

What about front teeth?

For front teeth, crowns are made considering not only chewing but also the color and shape seen when you smile. However, if the damage is not extensive and the main goal is improving color or shape, laminate veneers, which require relatively little reduction, may be more suitable. We recommend the right treatment based on the condition of your teeth.

How does treatment proceed?

You usually visit twice.

  • First visit: we remove decay or old restorations, prepare the tooth, take a digital impression with an intraoral scanner (iTero) and place a temporary restoration.
  • Second visit: we check the color of the finished restoration and how the teeth bite together, then bond it.
How should I care for it after placement?

For about a day, so the restoration can fully set, please avoid hard or sticky foods and chew on the other side. Clean with floss and an interdental brush.

I would like to replace my old gold restorations.

Even if a restoration has no problems, replacing it for color or shape means the tooth has to be reshaped again. We first check for decay or gaps around it, and explain both the benefits of replacing it and the fact that the tooth will need to be reshaped again.

Does a crown require removing a lot of tooth?

Because it covers the whole tooth, a little more is removed than for an inlay. So when an inlay is enough, we recommend the inlay first.

Is zirconia the best material?

Zirconia is strong and well suited to back teeth, but not every tooth needs the same material. We recommend a suitable material considering the position of the tooth, chewing forces and the condition of the opposing teeth.

My temporary tooth came off.

An exposed prepared tooth can become sensitive or fracture, and the tooth may shift so that the final restoration no longer fits, so it is best to contact us and have it reattached.

Side effects and limitations
  • For a while after placement, the tooth may be sensitive or the bite may feel unusual.
  • The restoration can break or come off, and decay can recur at the margins.
  • In some cases nerve symptoms develop after the tooth is prepared, and root canal treatment becomes necessary.
  • How long a restoration lasts varies greatly with care and chewing habits.

Treatment results and side effects may vary from person to person.
